We are incredibly proud to announce that CKFU FM-100.1 Moose FM has been named the 2025 Radio Station of the Year (Small Market) by the Broadcast Dialogue Canadian Radio Awards!
This prestigious national award recognizes the very best radio stations in communities with fewer than 150,000 residents. For us, this isn’t just an industry accolade; it’s a confirmation of who we are. We are 100.1% Fort St. John.
A Victory for the Peace Region
We don’t just broadcast to this community; we are part of it. This recognition belongs to every listener who tuned in, every business that supported us, and every neighbour who showed up to help one another.
Here is a look at the milestones we achieved together over the past year:
- Light a Moose & Community Generosity: Our community’s spirit shone brighter than ever. Through initiatives such as our “Light a Moose” campaign for the local hospital foundation, as well as radiothons for literacy and seniors, we raised over $350,000 for the community this year.
- Celebrating Together: When it’s time to celebrate, Fort St. John knows how to party. Our Moose FM Block Party shut down three city blocks and drew more than 5,000 people, making it the city’s biggest single-day event of the year.
- Making Real Connections: We are proud to be a voice for those who need it. Our partnership with the SPCA helped 62 animals find homes, and we continued our work with mentorship programs for schools and other local agencies.
- Sharing Our Stories: Through our Indigenous-led podcast, Before the Peace, we share powerful regional stories that reflect the true spirit of Northern BC.
The Numbers Speak for Themselves
The energy in the Peace Region is undeniable, and our growth is a testament to that. Over the past year, our promotions team has organized contests that have reached over 40,000 people, helping to drive our average weekly listenership to more than 22,000.
We are honoured to reach more than 80% of the population in our region every single week. In fact, from October 2024 to September 2025, our community spent a staggering 5.98 million hours listening to Moose FM.
Thank You, Fort St. John
Thank you to the Broadcast Dialogue Canadian Radio Awards for this honour, and more importantly, thank you to the people of Fort St. John. You are the reason we do what we do.
