When Moose FM first launched “Light a Moose” back in 2004, it was a humble roadside broadcast with a big heart. The vision was simple: harness the power of local radio to unite the Peace Region for a common cause.
Over two decades later, that vision has grown into one of our community’s most meaningful annual traditions. Moose FM and Moose Media have proudly carried this torch year after year, and today, we are thrilled to announce that the 2025 Light a Moose Radiothon has raised over $161,000.
This year’s success pushes the event’s lifetime fundraising total to over $1.5 million. For the team at Moose FM, this isn’t just an annual event; it is our enduring commitment to the health and safety of the North Peace.
We believe that our community deserves the best care possible, right here at home. That is why we continue to champion this fundraiser, ensuring the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation has the resources they need to save lives.
The funds raised during our 2025 campaign will be directed directly toward strengthening critical care for local families. We are purchasing three essential upgrades for the Fort St. John Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU):
- A New Ultrasound with Thoracic Probe: allowing for real-time heart and respiratory monitoring.
- A Transport Monitor: ensuring ICU patients remain safely monitored when moving for CT scans or MRIs.
- A Temperature Management System: helping maintain optimal healing conditions for seriously ill patients.
While Moose FM leads the charge on the airwaves, we could not do this without the incredible support of our business community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our 2025 sponsors who stood with us to make this happen:
- Chances Fort St. John
- Braun’s Flooring
- FSJ Co-op
- Home Hardware Building Centre
- Peace Country Rentals
Thank you to everyone in the Peace Region who tuned in, donated, and kept this tradition alive. Whether you have been with us since that first roadside broadcast in 2004 or just joined us this year, you are helping to light the way for better healthcare in our community.
